The recent Podium roundtable at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering in February 2024 marked the first collaborative research meeting between the Podium Institute for Sports Medicine & Technology, and Podium Analytics. The conference sparked productive discussions further solidifying the passion across both teams in working together to shape the future of sports injury.

Chaired jointly by the Institute’s Director, Professor Constantin Coussios OBE FREng, and Podium Analytics’ CEO, Andy Hunt, the well-attended meeting included academics from across the University of Oxford, Podium Institute students, representatives from Oxford University Sport, and key team members from Podium Analytics. Presentations spanned recent progress in our 9 ongoing student research projects, related research projects across Oxford and progress updates for key focus areas in research and data management at Podium Analytics.

As we anticipate the future possibilities and additional collaborative partnerships, at Podium we remain committed to advancing biomedical innovation and stay true to our aims of:

• Producing world-leading science to inspire and forge evidence-based changes in safety regulation and policy across sport, with an initial focus on youth sport.​
• Developing innovative technologies to monitor, analyse and prevent sport injury and drive their adoption. ​
• ​Devising, validating and encouraging the adoption of robust safety performance standards for sport equipment.
