Nivedita is a postdoctoral researcher in AI for health technologies at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. She completed her PhD at the University of Surrey, in collaboration with the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial College London, where she developed interpretable anomaly detection methods for sensor-based home healthcare monitoring in people living with dementia. Her work enabled early intervention and the discovery of digital biomarkers for adverse events in the home, helping to reduce preventable hospitalisations and the burden of care. She previously worked at Fincore Ltd. as a software engineer and technical business analyst, supporting the development of a business workflow platform used by SMEs and the UK government. She also worked as a Faculty Assistant in the Data Analytics Master’s program at the University of Maryland Global Campus, USA.
Nivedita’s research with Professor Mauricio Villarroel focuses on wearable-based digital health monitoring and longitudinal time-series analysis, with the aim of improving cardiovascular health assessment and monitoring physical and cognitive load in athletes.
