I graduated from UCL with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Neuroscience and Psychology, followed by a master’s in Advanced Biomedical Imaging.

Sport has always been a big part of my life. Growing up I’ve loved getting involved in all sorts of sports and activities, from skiing to breakdancing (with significantly varying levels of proficiency), but football has been the constant, playing throughout school and university since I was about 11. More recently, I’ve taken up surfing and am on a mission to learn to surfskate. Outside sport, I really enjoy travelling, volunteering, human photography and documentary filmmaking – essentially meeting new people from different communities, hearing their stories and helping share them through my camera.

Research Project

My DPhil explores how repetitive head impacts from routine football heading may affect the brain health of female athletes. Using non-invasive MRI methods, I aim to investigate whether heading produces measurable neurovascular changes, how these responses recover over time, and whether they accumulate with repeated exposure. I am also interested in whether factors such as menstrual cycle phase and age influence these effects, and how they relate to cognition. Ultimately, I hope to help clarify what any observed changes mean for athletes’ long-term brain health and inform safer practices in football.
