The Podium Institute Annual Conference in Sports Medicine and Technology 2025 seeks to highlight enabling scientific developments that improve the prevention, detection and treatment of sports injuries, with a particular focus on women’s sport and injury. Information on the conference speakers and programme highlights will be shared on this page soon.

Registration costs are strongly subsidised to encourage broad participation and include the drinks reception and gala dinner at New College. We look forward to welcoming all registered attendees on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th September at the Richard Doll Lecture Theatre in Oxford.

 

REGISTRATION INCLUDES

Attendance to two full days of the conference, all meals on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th, refreshments and attendance to the drinks reception, and formal hall dinner at New College on 25th September.

Upon notification of acceptance, contributing presenters are required to confirm attendance through payment of the attendee fee prior to final inclusion in the programme.

DIRECTIONS

The Campus can be found by following signs to the Churchill Hospital. The Richard Doll is a big, white, modern building, and adjacent to Old Road Campus Research Building (green). The entrance to the Doll building is indicated on the map, exactly opposite the entrance to the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. The Richard Doll Lecture Theatre and Atrium are on the ground floor, to the left as you enter from main entrance.

PARK & RIDE

There is limited on-site parking therefore it is advisable to park at Thornhill Park & Ride, one mile east of Headington, Oxford, on the A40. At Thornhill take bus no. 700 going to the “Churchill Drive” stop, or it is possible to pre-order a taxi and drive to the campus (10 mins).

TRAIN

The Campus is three miles from the mainline station at Oxford (allow 15 mins by taxi from the station forecourt).

The drinks’ reception and formal conference dinner will take place at New College’s Medieval Dining Hall on Thursday 25th September. With stunning linenfold panelling, this is the oldest dining hall in either Oxford or Cambridge. Subsidised accommodation will be available to book, also at New College, for an additional £45/per person upon request.
