Bio

I graduated from the university of Oxford in 2023 with an MEng in Engineering Science, specialising in Biomedical Engineering. Outside of studies I am a keen sports person, having competed nationally in gymnastics, I now represent the University in Gymnastics, Trampolining and Athletics. My current work is the perfect way to combine my academic and sporting interests as I look into injury monitoring and prevention for safer practices in youth gymnastics.

Research Project

My research is on injury monitoring and prevention for safer practices in youth gymnastics, with a focus on the upper limb. The use of the wrist as a weight bearing joint is unique to gymnastics. My aim is to characterise the associated motion and loading using video analysis and inertial sensing technologies, this will allow for a better understanding of the injury mechanisms so preventative measures can be put in place.
