I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering with minor in honors mathematics, and a Master’s in Mathematics. My highly interdisciplinary interest in mathematics, computer and medical sciences prompted me to pursue research in biomedical engineering. My dream is to positively impact the healthcare quality of those in marginalized communities through my research. Outside of studies, I take interest in dancing, teaching and playing chess.

Research Project

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) has a high rate of occurrence in contact sports athletes. CTE can currently only be diagnosed post-mortem, which poses a huge challenge for the scientific community in studying its etiopathology and progression. Additionally, most current studies focus on male subjects. Through mechanistic modelling, I hope to uncover the unexplained mechanisms in CTE, and explore potential sex and gender factors involved in CTE susceptibility. Further, I hope to validate theoretical findings with real-world data through statistical modelling.
