I graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, where I focused my research on structural brain changes in neurodegenerative disease using longitudinal imaging. Having grown up playing sports, most notably over fifteen years of competitive lacrosse, I became increasingly aware of the impact of head injuries in athletics. This experience inspired my current research on how sport-related brain injuries influence long-term brain ageing.

Research Project

My research explores how sport-related brain injuries influence the brain’s mechanical and structural ageing process. Using MRI imaging, I study how repeated stress and strain on brain tissue may accelerate neurodegenerative changes and disrupt the natural trajectory of ageing. By examining the stages between acute injury and chronic degeneration, I aim to better understand the long-term consequences of head impacts in sport.
