Bio

I graduated from Aarhus University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Currently, my main area of interest is concussions – an interest that was sparked after sustaining a concussion, followed by post-concussion syndrome. This led me to pursue a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China. For my master’s thesis, my project examined the use of advanced diffusion MRI methods as potential biomarkers of traumatic brain injury.

Research Project

My DPhil project focuses on exploring neuroimaging markers of sports-related concussion. Specifically, we will be scanning rugby players before and after receiving a concussion using MRI. The neuroimaging will be accompanied by various other measures such as blood, saliva and wearable mouthguard data. This multimodal approach may enable us to better understand the pathophysiology of concussion, as well as improve the assessment and diagnosis of sports-related concussion.
